Hello simming friends! As I have mentioned before, my playing style is kind of chaotic. I have commitment issues when it comes to TS3 and due to that I tend to move my family around a lot. Some of you may already recognize the place. This is Appaloosa Plains!
The DeLeo's had a good reason for moving THIS time. Being a Star News Reporter and an International Super Spy you really need your privacy. Back in Twinbrook, after a high stakes gambling encounter at an underground gambling lot run by criminals, the head criminal they call Kingpin started snooping around. I guess a couple that can lose $12,000 in one night and not complain about it is someone you wanna know more about. Once the townies started talking about it around town, it was clear it was time to move.
Who would have ever guessed they'd ever see US living in the country. It wasn't all that bad though. The farm house even came with a very nice boat.
Simself:"Well, I guess this is it guys."
Paul:"Yup, this is it." He didn't sound too thrilled.
Logan:"Mom, I know why we had to move. Cus you always say to keep our business at home. Right."
I just looked at my sweet little girl. She was growing up so fast.
Simself:"Well Logan, don't you worry yourself about why we have moved again. You just try and enjoy yourself while you are here honey. It's a farm! There are tons of things to do!"
Logan:"Okay mommy."
It really was a very nice house to have if you have to live on a farm :-)
Well mister mopey didn't take long to get into the spirit of things. He's just like having another kid in the house.
While taking a tour of the place, I found a nice keg of "juice" out back by the picnic area. There was a note attached from the realtor who sold us the house. It read: Hello Mr & Mrs DeLeo. I hope you enjoy your new home. Here's a little something to help you cool off. Signed, your realtor.
I stood back and took a good look around. We really were quite lucky to find such a great house at such short notice.
This place had everything! A pond with fish, archery, golf. The barn can hold two horses if we like and the attic is all setup with craft items.
I sure hope my hubby knows that we have to actually MILK those cows :-/
Harmony, my little couch potato found the TV. At least she's not standing on the furniture...yet.
Snowball seems to be a little more curious than usual. Most times she just finds a corner to sleep in all day. I guess she wants to see what the farm life has to offer too :-)
Looks like the hubby has also found the beer. "Juice" that is. :-)
While I had already had the "why'd we have to move" conversation with Logan, Harmony was not in the loop it seems.
Harmony:"But mom! I don't understand! Why'd we have to move? I was making friends!"
I did my best to explain, without really explaining too much at all. Logan may have caught on pretty easily to the way things were, but Harmony sometimes takes a little longer. They may be twins, but these girls are hardly alike at all.
Simself:"Okay sweetie, let me see how I can put this for you so you understand."
Simself:" Remember when mommy use to breed puppies?"
Harmony:"Yeah, I remember mommy."
Simself:"Well, remember how the female dogs never paid any attention to the male dog EXCEPT when it was time to make puppies once year?"
Harmony:"Uh-huh, they just ignored him like he wasn't even there."
Simself:"Well, think of that male dog as your father. Not literally of course, not unless I'm made at him. But back to the topic, your father's job can't be done if sims notice him. He has to be like that stud and only show who he is and what he does when the time is right. Do you understand now dear?"
Harmony:"Oh, I understand now mommy. You don't want girls all over him. I get it now. Thanks mommy!" And with that, Harmony ran out the door to play. :-/
Our first day on the farm was starting to settle down. My husband was happy to see the musical instruments in the family room. He has the virtuoso trait and can't help but be drawn to them.
The girls were really enjoying the wide open space on the farm. Most of our previous homes were in the city with very little yard space.
As the day was coming to an end, I figured I'd tryout the fire pit. I hadn't lit one since my college days. (Do NOT take that out of context.) LOL
As I stood there watching the fire burn I felt...safe and relaxed.
"This isn't bad at all. This is actually quite nice in the country."
I headed inside to start dinner.
Meanwhile, Harmony had found the TV upstairs in the master bedroom. Such a couch potato. Secretly, I would rather she watch all the TV she wants, just so long as she stays off the furniture playing queen.
Downstairs I was cooking stew surprise! I might as well use the garden veggies. We'll have plenty of them!
I love a big kitchen, and this kitchen did not disappoint!
I think you just cook better food when you have fun doing it. I was having lots of fun in my new spacious kitchen!
Normally I prefer a modern home, but this country kitchen was pretty nice.
"Mmm, yummy!"
After dinner I headed out to recycle the trash. What a beautiful starry night.
Well that's the end of the first day! Tomorrow we milk the cows! :-/
Goodnight Logan, goodnight Harmony, goodnight CQ, goodnight Paul, goodnight Snowball.
Everyone:"goodnight Simgod!"
